The Research, Innovation, and Collaboration Department is under the Directorate of Library, Research and Innovation. The department is committed to advancing research, innovation, and collaboration in the field of agriculture and related disciplines. We are dedicated to addressing critical challenges in agriculture, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering partnerships to benefit our local community and beyond. This brief outlines the key objectives, services, guiding principles, and areas of focus for our department.

Our mission is to contribute to the advancement of agricultural knowledge, skills and practices by facilitating research, innovation, and collaboration with local and international partners. We aim to support the development of sustainable agricultural solutions that positively impact society.

Our Mandate is to source and provide information on funding, organize and conduct proposal writing workshops, coordinate multidisciplinary research, float, review and award internal research grants, organize training on research skills, conduct research days and coordinate national and international partnerships

We welcome collaboration with organizations, businesses, and institutions interested in contributing to a sustainable world, healthy food, and living environments through research and innovations. At Bukura Agricultural College, we have the expertise, technology, facilities, and ideas to create meaningful and lasting impacts on agriculture and related fields.

About

Bukura Agricultural College grew from the former Bukura Institute in 1974 under the Ministry of Agriculture with the mandate of offering certificate courses in Agriculture. In 1992, the Institute’s status was upgraded from awarding certificate courses to awarding Diploma courses in Agriculture and renamed Bukura Agricultural College (BAC). Following the enactment of the Bukura Agricultural College Act, Cap.348 of 1999, BAC became a state corporation under the then Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. The College is currently operating as a State Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.
