DRIVER - ONE (1) POST         V/NO. 12/2020

 Salary Scale: Ksh.32,160 - Ksh.42,780 p.m.         BAC ‘9’

Terms of Service:     Permanent & Pensionable

 Requirements for Appointment: -

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have; -

  1. A minimum mean grade D (plain) in KCSE or its equivalent;
  2. A valid driving license free from any endorsements and valid for all the classes of vehicles, which the candidate is required to drive;
  3. Knowledge of the traffic act and related regulations;
  4. Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III from the Ministry of Public Works;
  5. At least two (2) years previous satisfactory driving experience after obtaining the driving license;
  6. A valid one (1) week first Aid Certificate from Kenya Red Cross, Kenya College of Highway and Building Technology or St. John’s Ambulance; and
  7. Certificate in Computer application;
  8. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution


Duties and Responsibilities: -

  1. Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling and oil systems, electrical system, tyre pressure, brakes;
  2. Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
  3. Maintenance of work tickets for the assigned vehicles;
  4. Driving the vehicle as authorized;
  5. Security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road;
  6. Safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
  7. Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
